Baby Gifts

We've been spoiled. Blessed. And overwhelmed by all kinds of sweet, thoughtful presents.

A sincere thank you to all of our generous family and friends who have heaped baby gifts upon us. We feel humbled and honored.

Here's a glimpse into some of our growing stock of baby stuff. I love it all.

Hats. What's cuter than baby hats? Yup, nothing. The green one was made by my cousin Christina, and the white/pink/green one was made by my friend Kendra. Adorable.

Itty bitty baby clothes. She's got the beginnings of a great wardrobe!

For the baby of Lost fans. Thank you Martha!

Dog-related baby clothes for GIRLS are hard to find, so I was thrilled to receive this one!

DeeDee thought this outfit was "so me." I agree.

This little set was hand crocheted by Nugget's great great grandmother, "Grandma Wallace." This lady passed away at least 30 years ago, but Josh's mom saved this set for all those years, in the event that there would be a little girl in the family.

Another antique baby outfit, one that my Grandma bought for us. Love this one, too! Both will make for great pictures someday.

My friend Lora made this quilt for us and gave it to me at the shower she hosted. Lora helped me pick out the fabric I've been using for the nursery, and went back to the store and bought more of it to use for this. I love, love this quilt. The back side is flannel, which makes it especially cuddly.

Cloth diapers. These will be put to VERY good use!

A Moby Wrap. I'm excited to try this out... it seems like a very snuggly way to carry a baby. Any reader reviews? We also received an Ergo carrier for when she's bigger.

I'm totally intrigued by these DIY baby wipes, which my friend Erin gave to me. It's a simple recipe + half a roll of paper towel. What could be easier?

Thank you again, family and friends, for SUCH generous gifts. We so appreciate each one and feel so very loved by all of you!

The moby wrap is a MUST HAVE. It's so soft and great to put on under your winter coat, so then you can pop the baby in once you get to your destination. I really recommend putting it on before you leave as it can be a bit difficult to put on outside the car with the ends dragging on the ground. :) It also spreads the weight out so well so there is no pulling anywhere on mama, and you have full range of your arms. It was the ONLY thing that worked for "fussy time" at our house too (usually 6-8pm). I had the Beco (very similar to the Ergo) for once she was bigger and that was great for carrying them on your back, also great for baby naps in the front. Either way, I couldn't live without my Moby!

Oh, and I did DIY wipes with cloth diapers as well. I bought a bunch of cheap washclothes, the thin "baby" ones where it's like 12 for $2, folded them in half and stacked them a regular plastic wipes tub. Then I made a mixture of water, tea tree oil, vinegar, few pumps of baby wash and sometimes lavendar oil and poured it over. It was SO convenient to just throw the wipes in with the diapers and then my dipes got a bit of tea tree oil in the wash too. Super easy and SUPER inexpensive.

Fun post....love seeing all the goods :)! I am going to do a blog post on my baby "favorite things" someday soon. Email if you want to know my review of the Moby wrap before then!

We have an Ergo carrier and love it. We were actually thinking that we should have taken it somewhere recently but forgot it. I had the infant insert so I used it right away when she was just a few weeks old.

I've heard the Moby wrap is great. My friend recently put it on her blog in her top 10 things for new moms.

Rather nice site you've got here. Thanx for it. I like such themes and everything connected to this matter. I would like to read a bit more on that blog soon.

I second Missy's suggestion to go with cloth wipes. If you're already cloth diapering, cloth wipes make the whole process even cheaper. I bought mine on wallypop. http://www.wallypop.net/
